It was a new beginning for Gustavo and Aline when they were ordained as pastors on New Year's Eve. In this blog we give a short photo report of this special event!

Happy new year!

We wish you all a happy new year. Sounds a bit cheap and maybe a bit unbelievable.... Can there be happiness in a period when people suffer or worse because of Covid? Yes, for our happiness does not depend on circumstances, but comes because we know that in all circumstances we are hidden in the hands of God, who never never lets us down.

Last services of 2021.

On December 29, he spoke in a small church in Lagoa Dorada. We were a bit early and the pastor's wife was busy scrubbing the toilet, then she walked over the floor of the church for a while because it had rained a lot. With the same enthusiasm with which she used the toilet, she was singing to God a little later.... beautiful isn't it! The small church stands on the edge of a connecting road to Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais. The trucks that passed thundered along to the music of worship :)

New pastors.

New Year's Eve we were in the young congregation 'Atos' - translated acts. Because their church was too small, they rented the sports hall for a service in which Gustavo and Aline were also ordained as pastors. They are given the pastoral task in the congregation. The church is an enthusiastic group that goes out to reach young people with the Gospel. They do that on the street and in every possible way. The blessing was special and we were allowed to be a part of it. A pitcher of oil was poured over Gustavo's head, and Aline was anointed from the oil from his head. What a party! We were also deeply moved by it, precisely because we know them personally and their lives. Aline is musical and is part of the praise team in church. She plays drums and guitar and does this with great passion and pleasure. Gustavo spent about 10 years in the daycare of the mission in Ritapolis. He was a boy who was always eager to help others. We have been in regular contact with him over the years. He is also on the board of the OSFA. We will also continue to keep in touch with them from ELO and pray behind their ministry. Fortunately, there was someone with a good camera, so that we can take you in this special event. Look for more photos and information on the page of Gustavo and Aline.
