Traveling home.

On Tuesday we drove back to Rio de Janeiro, so that we had time on Wednesday to look for a PCR test at the airport. International auxiliary troops, acquaintances of Bram in the Netherlands, were watched and helped and we could go to an Israeli medical post at the airport.

At the end of the day, we both had a negative test result in our hands. It was quite exciting though....perhaps more exciting than we like to admit. Of course we have adhered to the rules as much as possible, but especially in the last period we saw a lot of covid around us. But we are thankful to God for His protection and your prayers.

We had some time left to get some fresh air at the sea, near Niterói. Just a little while...before we go out into the cold.

Our lives take place in two worlds, Brazil and the Netherlands. It still feels different, you are at home in two completely different worlds and cultures. Our hearts remain connected to the people, churches and projects in Brazil, but it is also wonderful to see (grand) children again and to be part of Kom en Zie.

The next trip is planned for July this year, shorter than this one. Our plan is for Jaap to travel ahead to visit the project in Labrea with Luis. Me, Jennie later will fly in with Jamie and then we spend a short period at the Esperança project and the projects and churches in Minas. We'll be less bothering you with Blog news in the coming months... But every once in a while there's a follow-up of everything that's happening on this side of the ocean.

Thank you very much for your prayers, gifts and messages. With your help we have been able to help in Brazil, bringing new hope in a time when we are all going through difficult moments. Let us not hesitate to continue to believe in a hopeful future and to continue reaching out to those who need help in this. Thus together, united in ELO, we may be the hands and feet of Him who sends us and may we receive and speak His words.

Blessings!,

Jaap and Jennie
