Update Lábrea

Many of you have had an active role in the beautiful new-build project in Lábrea. The last phase is the construction of the manager's house and we have also received donations from various people. We'd love to update you on the construction progress.

We made sure that the finances went to Luis so that the materials could be bought and the builders could get to work. Despite the rain that falls regularly in the Amazon, they have made considerable progress. We regularly receive new photos of the construction via Whatsapp and we don't want to withhold that from you. So here below:

On July 7 I (Jaap) leave for Brazil and then fly directly to Porto Velho, where Luis will be waiting for me. Then we travel together through the jungle to Lábrea. It takes totaly from Amsterdam more than 30 hours of travel time to arrive. Occasionally a few hours waiting at an airport en route. As we wrote in the newsletter, Jennie and Jamie are coming a few weeks later. From there we would like to let you hear from us again by a short message. For everyone who goes on holiday: have fun, blessings and sun! We are going to a tropical country, but it is winter there... so in the mountains of Minas... cold....brr
